Aim of the Programme
CLMD Traineeship programmes offer education and training programme coupled with work experience that unlocks the potential of the young person and prepares him/her for future careers helping him/her to become ‘work ready’. The programmes are for candidates 16 to 24 years old who do not yet have the appropriate skills or experience for work. The Traineeship programmes provide the essential work preparation training including, English, Maths, Work Training and work experience needed to secure an apprenticeship or employment.
The programme is funded by the SFA and ESF and there is no cost to you the candidate.
A tutor will provide training in Maths, English and Work Preparation in our centre as well as offer additional online support. Candidates will take functional skills tests in Maths and English and will be introduced to employees’ rights and responsibilities. Work placement training will be provided by the designated employer to further advance employability skills.

On completion of the Traineeship programme, candidates can progress an apprenticeship programme or employment.
4 to 6 weeks full time attendance and 4 to 8 weeks full time work placement with an employer carrying out duties to improve employability skills. The total programme duration is a maximum of 6 months.
